But unfortunately even if the cast can boast some great talents like Denzel Washington and Gary Oldman the success isn’t a guaranty for this film. Not only the current recession may turn the public away from one more movie describing a bleak future, but also John Hillcoat’s The Road, which should be released in the coming months, may get a hold that the Book of Eli would not anymore be able to equal.

But still some details like Eli’s samurai sword could mean a movie differentiate itself enough -even if not bringing a brand new concept- to arouse the public’s interest again!
